About Me
I started my professional career as a civil engineering student at Georgia Tech, and decided that I more enjoyed the mathematical details. I completed my B.S. in both disciplines, and decided to pursue more training in mathematics. I received my Ph.D. in mathematics and worked a tenure-track job as a professor of mathematics teaching all level of undergraduate level mathematics courses and researching advanced numerical methods. Primarily I was interested in writing code that implemented advanced algorithms solving nonlinear parabolic partial differential equations.
With time, I decided that I wanted the end result of my researching to be tools that I build rather than a paper that I publish. Because of this, I looked for opportunities that would both challenge me mathematically and enable me to build and deploy solutions to practical problems. I invested in learning good programming practices, found data science enjoyable, and that brings us to today.
